Camera Shutter Animation

This is a small animation of a camera shutter opening and closing in a loop. It is enclosed within a movie clip, so it can easily be inserted into your timeline. My first contribution, after borrowing a TON of you guys' stuff - enjoy!

Cheers for that Bully. I had the exact same idea for a preloader as it is similar to my logo and I too am a photographer. I was thinking of using it as a tutorial to show me how to achieve something similar in Flash. How do I see the component parts as I guess I'll have to rework my vector shutter imageachieve each individual piece. Ta.

This file is 100% vector animations. If you have Flash, you should be able to open the .fla and resize it. Do the following:

Open the file in Flash. Unlock all the layers by clicking the padlock at the top of the window. Click the "Edit Multiple Frames" button at the bottom of the timeline. Now hit "Command+A" (Ctrl+A on a PC). Hit the letter "Q" to select the Free Transform tool. Scale up the elements to the desired size. Do this manually, and do NOT use the "Align" panel to align them, because you will mess up the individual pieces' alignments. If you'd like to convert all of them to a Movie Clip, then you should be fine to align with the palette. Hopefully this helps!

I'm sorry I haven't answered sooner - as all of you know, the economy is terrible right now, and due to that my company laid off several people in my department in the last few weeks. As a result, my workload is very heavy and I can't update files here right now. Hopefully things change soon, and I can get back to helping! My apologies.

jessica: sorry to hear that. My wife runs a photography studio, and this was something I came up with for her site. Shared it because there are precious little animations of camera shutters out there, and none that I could find in flash. (and since the majority of Photography sites are built in Flash, this might be more useful than you think.) I used it as a preloader animation. Now, since this isn't useful, let me know of anything you might need: I enjoy a challenge, and am always looking for new ideas to help me learn.

viphoto: You can resize this in Flash - that's why I made the entire thing a movie clip. Just select this MC on your stage, hit "q" and drag out the handles while holding shift. Viola!
