Yes, or you could make it reload an external file and add "?"+random(99999) to that loaded file, that will make browser think it is a new file on each load, by adding a random string in path to file.

Just a recommendation. I am trying to see the preload, but i think the image has to low size because the preload show up for a little time, maybe you can put up the resolution of the image for the preload to stay on screen more time.
