Is this realy AS3.0 as stated since flash CS4 says its AS1.0&AS2.0
When I change the publish settings to AS3.0 It gives the following warning. "WARNING: Actions on button or MovieClip instances are not supported in ActionScript 3.0. All scripts on object instances will be ignored."

Is there a good AS3.0 version of this album? With for example class.as files attached.

Hi, love this photo gallery, I would like to use it for our website. The problem is we are usability experts, so ik must be totally right what we put on our site.
I have seen people click and click and click your gallery, without getting the idea to dubble click .... You need a specialcursor to communicate this action. The same with closing the big photo. You need a close cross at the right top.
I do'nt mention the moving the photo's around. If people do'nt find out, it does'nt matter to much. The playsome ones will find out.
Can't you make it that way? We'll mention you extra extra on our site.

By the way, I have a question. I wanted to add in a menu bar at the bottom of the gallery.But I am not able to do that. The photos for the gallery will still be infront of the menu bar.

I even tried with some simple images. (Meaning, I create a new layer on top of everything else with a image in that layer). But still, the gallery photos comes infront of the image.

Really hope someone will help me on this. I'm a little bit tight on my schedule and I just realised this problem.

Hello, i use DW CS3 and Flash 8. I cant open Fla.files. How i can do? I changed xml file and whwn i make test to open swf it work, but to see on my server or internet its only background, no pictures. I need help. Thanks

Hi mate, how comes the move functions with the mc_tween2.as
doesn't work? mc_tween2.as works fine with CS4 on my side. But just not with the object that contain the drag and drop script.
Looks like the drag and drop script locks the _x & _y.
So the only thing that doesn't work is the moving part. The Alpha and scale part works fine.

I'm afraid the problem is due to CS4. It was developed years ago and it still works with CS3. Since I believe it's a common problem (actually the mc_tween2.as was very diffused even if it's outdated now) you should try to look on google for a fix. I'm sorry I can't help you.

In order to spread the photo all around, actually that was the behaviour of the previous version of this gallery. I think I've removed a line with the random position. To be honest I don't remember now how does it worked (it was more than two years ago) but it was commented enough so you should be able to find the right function. My suggestion is to download the previous version and look for the difference. Really, it shouldn't be too hard to find it out.

don't know why, but it doesn't want to load mc_tween2.as
I've installed extension, restarted flash and when I want to test movie - it gives an error. DO you know, what can be the problem? I'm using Flash cs4.
And one more question. Is it possible to load pictures in various points of defined area?

@fabricf: sorry I didn't noticed before. It seems that the mc_tween library doesn't work well with FLASH CS4. It works fine with CS3 instead.

I think it's time to update this project, but I've got so much things to do... maybe later...

@fabricf: what bug? are you talking about the white image on top of the list? It is so because the photo is still loading, actually it's not a bug. You should implement a preloader bar or something similar.

And about the MXP, yes you need to install it before opening the FLA. It's a library I used to obtain a smooth movement (easily).

guys, where do i put the image files

such a wonderful gallery.......truly loved it. I would like to use this in a presentation with your permission. I was trying to align the pack of images to the left rather than the center as it is now and have found how to do it. Just another thing. I would like to have a paragraph written on the blank right side. If I place it on the stage, then when on full screen it doesnt align automatically as the pack of images does. I have tried browsing through various tuts and other combinations but without success. I have no scripting knowledge and am a newbie. Please help...

I test your anim, and i'm really fan ... too excellent (sorry my english is poor!). i see the other version , but this one is the better cause every picture charge on above the other. The only pb is that "my gallery" have 30 pictures, and the loading is aound 20sd.
I would like to have a simple preload include in it in % and number of image (like the gallery revisited) but i can't make it. Could you just send me a new version of this gallery with a preload include please ? it could be so great for me

For info - I came across a bug which only seems to occur when the gallery is loaded as an asset into another flash swf:

The 1st image (bottom of the stack) displays as all white it appears as if it hasn't loaded but in fact the problem is related to the following line in the CreateThumbs function:

this[Thumb+Loaded=_mc].rece be_mc.colorTo(0xffffff)

Commenting out the line fixes the problem. (I assume this was added to replace the preloader in the previous versions but as the thumbnail holder is already white it doesn't seem massively important)

I was wondering if, when I set the one click enlargement value to a large number so that I can have a big image, the image is jagged and not anti-aliased nicely as the double-clicked image. Is there anything to do in the actionscript that would force everything to "best" quality? I set the export on the html to "best", but it still won't work. I tried this too:

stage.quality = "high";

but it didn't work. I'm only guessing, but maybe because onclick, it's a movieclip, not a bitmap?

Anyways, thanks again for this cool gallery.

Also, would it be a simple thing to include a next-button/arrow keys to navigate to the next or previous picture just like the Polaroid Gallery? That would be an awesome feature in this gallery.

By the way: this gallery works as usual with XML OR .PHP files. If you delete or rename the included XML file, the gallery will automatically looks for file in IMAGES folder and auto update itself. Thanks
